Juuso Valimaki signs 2-year extension in Calgary

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed defenceman Juuso Valimaki to a two-year contract with a $1,550,000 AAV.

Valimaki was a first-round pick of the Flames in the 2017 NHL Draft. Since then, the 22-year-old has skated in 73 NHL games, notching three goals and 11 assists for 14 points. Valimaki skated in 49 games a season ago, finishing with two goals and nine assists for eleven points and 26 penalty minutes. He captained Team Finland at the 2018 World Junior Championships where he recorded a goal and three assists in five games.
