SABRES SIGN POOLMAN TO ONE-YEAR, TWO-WAY DEAL

The Buffalo Sabres have signed defenseman Colton Poolman to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000, the team announced Tuesday.

Poolman, 28, had six points (3+3) in 66 games last season with the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers. The 6-foot-1, left-shot defenseman has 39 points (6+33) and a plus-35 rating in 213 career AHL games.

Prior to turning pro, the East Grand Forks, Minnesota native played four seasons at the University of North Dakota. He served as team captain as a senior in 2019-20, earning recognition as Best Defensive Defenseman by the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.
